About Our Flower Studio

From flowerbed to bouquet, we prioritize choices that support the health of the soil, our plants, pollinators, and the planet. We specialize in growing peonies sustainably, but we also grow other flowers that do well in our climate, mostly perennials, including many specialty peonies and garden roses. When in bloom, we bring our fresh-picked flowers into the studio to create floral designs before we look to other farms or sources for flowers, and we use reusable or compostable materials (never foam!) in our floral design and packaging.

About Our Specialty Peonies

Our small peony fields are located in New England, by two rivers and a sea. Many of the most fragrant and fluffiest double peony varieties we grow thrive because of our long cold winters and chilly springs!

As perennials, peonies are a sustainable flower to cultivate in New England. Their growing cycle is in harmony with our seasons.

Peonies like our long winters. We typically get plenty of rain during springtime when they grow quite quickly, once the ground thaws. They start as buds buried just beneath the soil on top of their roots — and after several weeks become fully blooming plants.

Luckily peonies have few pests. We keep the weeds at bay naturally with pine straw and hand weeding. For plant and soil health, we add organic amendments as well as homemade compost.

We grow specialty garden roses too!

During late spring and early summer (June and July), our floral designs for your wedding or event can include plenty of our fresh-picked peonies, if you desire. Throughout late spring, summer and the early part of Autumn, we also bring our beautiful, sustainably grown garden roses into our designs.
